NEW DELHI: Stranded in the distasteful ignominy of conceding in the dying minutes of a match where they were guilty of spurning a hatful of chances for the better part, the India U-23 National Team, currently preparing for the September Incheon Asian Games, will be keen to turn the tide when they take on second division Czech Club FK Manik Most in another practice game at TJ Banik Sous in Most on Thursday (July 31, 2014).
The Indian U-23 squad along with three Senior Players are currently on a Preparatory Camp in Pilsen. They had earlier been together for three weeks in Bangalore as part of the preparation for the Games.
FK Most have spent three seasons in the top flight between 2005 till 2008, managing a best finish of 10th in a 16 team League.
Coached by Radek Stehlik, the Club which is located a two-hour drive from Pilsen where the Team is based ended their last season’s engagement in the second tier on a lowly 12th.
In the first practice match against Senco Doubravka, a goal five minutes from full time abruptly punctuated India’s flurry of attacks and stayed such for the next five minutes as the Men in Blue had to swallow the heist in a match where they squandered three clear cut chances.
Striker Robin Singh, and substitute midfielder Lalrindika Ralte were left ruing their gilt edged muffs either side of half-time with fourth division Czech outfit Senco Doubravka’s Kutak making the most of his opportunity in the 85th minute.
Match starts 8:30 PM IST.
