India to play Pakistan in inaugural match of 2013 SAFF Championship

NEW DELHI: Defending Champions India have been drawn to begin their campaign against arch rivals Pakistan on the inaugural day of the 2013 SAFF Championship at the Dashrath Stadium in Kathmandu on September 1.

The Official Draw which took place on Tuesday (July 30) in Kathmandu saw India clubbed with hosts Nepal, Bangladesh and Pakistan in Group A of the Championship while Afghanistan, Maldives, Sri Lanka and Bhutan have been clubbed in Group B.

Both the semifinals are slated for September 8 while the Final is slated for September 11.

India are scheduled to play their second match on September 3 against Bangladesh while the final Group League Match against hosts Nepal is on September 5.

GROUP A: India, Nepal, Pakistan, Bangladesh

GROUP B: Afghanistan, Maldives, Sri Lanka, Bhutan
