NEW DELHI: The Hero Sub-Junior National Football Championship for the BC Roy Trophy has gotten off with a bang in Kalyani, West Bengal, garnering an overwhelming interest from across the nation.
Broadcasted live on Facebook, the matches have attracted an unprecedented number of eyeballs over the course of the first five days of the tournament.
In its first 11 matches, the Facebook live broadcasts have already reached almost 12 lakh people from across the country and beyond, garnering a gross amount of over two lakh views. On average, each match has been viewed by more than 19,000 fans.
So far, the match that garnered the highest number of eyeballs was the Group B match between Maharashtra and Arunachal Pradesh, with over 53,000 views, on Thursday, November 21, 2019.
As the tournament is now reaching its climax, the progression of viewership is expected to further increase over the next week, with the final slated to be held on Monday, December 2, 2019.
