All India Football Federation’s Elite Academy registered a comprehensive 2-0 victory over The Lusofonia Games Team in a Friendly Match played at the Duler Stadium in Goa.
The Elite Academy consists of U-19 boys who are presently preparing for the AFC U-19 Qualifiers to be held later this year.
Souvik Das and Daniel Lalhimpuia scored for the Academy boys in the 37th and 46th minute respectively.
This is their second consecutive win. The boys under Colm Joseph Toal came back from behind to win 3-2 in their last game against Margao XI.
Head Coach Toal said: “We played well against a strong opponent. It was a very encouraging performance and the victory would have been a good deal more convincing if we had not missed a host of goal chances in the second half.
He added: “The Lusofonia Games Team are in the early stages of their preparation. We look forward to playing them again later in the monsoon season when they will be a lot stronger.”
