NEW DELHI: All India Football Federation’s (AIFF) Elite Academy comprising of the U-19 National Team rode Germanpreet Singh’s first half strike to valiantly hold Goa Pro League outfit Sesa Goa to a 1-1 stalemate in a Friendly Match at the Chowgule Sports and Fitness Ground.
Germanpreet found the back of the net in the 44th minute to cancel out SESA’s 28th minute goal. The barren second period meant that the match ended 1-1.
The U-19 Boys beat Wilred Leisure in their the previous outing.
These Colts under Head Coach Colm Joseph Toal will be playing in the AFC U-19 Championship in Doha early in October. India play Qatar in their opening match on October 4, 2013. India have been clubbed with hosts Qatar, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, and Nepal in Group A.
The nucleus of the Squad had represented India in the Final Phase of the U-16 AFC Qualifiers in 2011 in Tehran where they had drawn 2-2 with the then U-16 Chinese National Team.
