NEW DELHI: East Bengal have been clubbed in Group F along with Johor Baru/Selangor (Malaysia), Kitchee SC (Hong Kong) and Balliester Khalsa (Singapore) for the AFC Cup 2015 group stage, a club statement confirmed.

The Kolkata giants who finished second in the I-League table last season will be starting their campaign against Johor Baru/Selangor in Malaysia on February 24 next year. This will be the club’s eighth time in the AFC Cup.

Previously East Bengal had qualified to AFC Cup in 2004, 2005, 2008, 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013.East Bengal had reached the semifinal in 2013 and quarterfinal in 2004.

Earlier the red and gold brigade had shared the maximum appearance record with Home United (Singapore) - 7 times each.
