ANANTAPUR, ANDHRA PRADESH:
Delhi eased their way into the semi-finals of the 2024-25 Junior Girls' National Football Championship Tier 1 as they beat Chhattisgarh 5-0 at the RDT Stadium in Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh, on Friday, August 16, 2024. The capital side finished at the summit of Group D with nine points from nine, including earlier wins over Mizoram (11-0) and Odisha (3-1).

The first half was a close affair as Esther Tingjoukim's 26th-minute goal remained the only difference at the break. However, Chhattisgarh's resistance broke as the floodgates opened in the second half, with captain Deepika Pal (48'), Tarini Sibal (53') and Lhingdeikim (56') adding three more goals in quick succession. Finally, Samriddhi Tripathi rounded off the scoring in the 92nd minute for Delhi.

Delhi will face Group B winners Manipur in the semi-final on August 18.

Delhi's win meant that Odisha's 11-0 drubbing of Mizoram in the morning fixture was only good enough for second place in the group. Ipshita Rout scored half a dozen of the goals (3', 5', 31', 64', 69', 90+1'). Captain and India U16 international Thandamoni Baskey netted a brace (41', 90+3'), while Rupashree Munda (8'), Anchal Singh (9') and Lotus Hansa (49') scored one each.
