KOZHIKODE: Calicut FC secured their first home win of the season with a 2-1 victory over Malappuram FC at EMS Corporation Stadium, on Saturday, October 12, 2024.  

After a barren first half, the breakthrough came in the 57th minute when Kervens Belfort scored the opening goal, assisted by Gani Ahmed, igniting a festival-like celebration among the home supporters. Six minutes later, the Haitian star doubled the lead, further thrilling the crowd.

Malappuram responded by making significant changes, including bringing on star forward Pedro Manzi. Their efforts paid off when they earned a penalty in the 80th minute, which Manzi successfully converted. However, Malappuram failed to mount a comeback, and Calicut FC secured their first home win of the season with a 2-1 victory.
