NEW DELHI: It was a dominant display for ARA FC and The Young Welfare Club (YWC) on the opening day of the Hero Indian Women’s League 2021-22 Qualifiers. The two teams earned major victories against Guwahati City FC and Golazo FC at the Ambedkar Stadium, in New Delhi on Friday, April 1, 2022.

ARA FC completed a dominant performance over Guwahati City FC in the opening match of the Hero IWL Qualifiers, putting 12 past the side from Assam at the Ambedkar Stadium in New Delhi today.
It was a quick start for ARA FC, who went up by a 4-0 margin, by the 20th minute, with Shreya Oza netting a hattrick. The side from Gujarat upped the ante in the second half, when Madhubala Alawe netted her own hattrick, with Poonam, Kiran and captain Anju also completing their respective braces.

YWC 4 (Rinaroy Devi 34’, 38’, Thoibisana Chanu 53’, 62’)
Meanwhile, in the second match of the day, The YWC from Manipur dominated the proceedings against Golazo FC, to notch their three points on the board. It took YWC the better part of the first half to break the deadlock, when Rinaroy Devi netted the first goal on the 34th. The Manipuri attacker didn’t take too long to double their lead, as Rinaroy scored again four minutes later.
YWC were equally dominant in the second half, and Thoibisana Chanu joined in on the act, netting a brace within 10 minutes, to put her side securely in the lead.
