NEW DELHI: The AIFF U-19 Colts lost by a solitary goal to nil against Chanmari FC in the Independence Day Cup 2016 on August 09, 2016 in Aizawl, Mizoram.
After a goalless first half, Chanmari FC surged ahead into the lead in the 47th minute when a routine corner kick scenario was hurled in by the opposition to give them a solitary goal lead.
Although the AIFF Colts had opportunities in plenty, the failure to take them cost the Colts the match. As early as the 4th minute, Edmund dribbled past two opposition defenders and released a cross for Tluanga, whose first time shot was saved by the opposition custodian.
After taking the lead early in the second half, Chanmari FC kept the AIFF Colts at bay and fostered two goal scoring opportunities, which went abegging. The full-time scoreline read 1-0 as the AIFF Colts succumbed to their third defeat of the Independence Day Cup.
