NEW DELHI: Riding on hat-tricks from Edmund Lalrindika and Rahul Yadav, AIFF U-17 routed a hapless Dempo SC 8-0 in the U-18 League. Courtesy the victory, AIFF Academy boys consolidate their position on the top of the Table with 6 points from 6 matches.

The floodgates opened as soon as it kicked-off. In the 3^rd minute itself, Anirudh Thapa cut back pass from the right side to set up Edmund who tapped it in.

The next goal came in the 20^th minute. Rahul Yadav who impressed with his agility pressed for the ball, won it on top of the box and put it past the rival Goalkeeper.

The AIFF Academy boys made it 3-0 at the stroke of interval when Nijwm Muchachary laid it for Rahul to score his second.

Changing over, the Academy boys scored five more, the first of which came a couple of minutes into the second half. This time Edmund set up Rahul who blasted it from just outside the box to complete his hat-trick.

Four minutes later, Prosenjit passed to Edmund who placed it past the Goalkeeper.

In the 60^th minute, Thapa’s freekick was headed into the net by Jayananda as the Academy boys made it 6-0.

Edmudnd completed his hat-trick in the 70^th minute when his shot from outside the box bulged the net.

Prasenjit completed the rout in the 69^th minute when he volleyed it in from around 20 yards.
