All India Football Federation’s U-15 Regional Academy Kolkata presently preparing for U-16 International Tournaments staged a thrilling win over I-League heavyweights East Bengal’s U-19 Team in a Friendly Match at East Bengal ground.
Krishna Pandit scored the winner in the 83rd minute, converting from the penalty spot after Negi was brought down by a rival defender inside the 18-yard box.
This is the boys’ second consecutive win. They beat I-League outfit Prayag United’s U-19 Team previously by an identical scoreline.
Head Coach Goutam Ghosh was ecstatic.
“This win will give our boys a huge boost. In fact we have won against strong opponents in the last two games. This is heartening. This reflects that we are improving everyday, Ghosh said.
The boys will start believing in themselves. But I have told the boys that there is a thin line between confidence and overconfidence. We should never become complacent,” he added.
