NEW DELHI: AIFF will host the “AIFF eFootball Challenge 2022", the second edition of its National qualifying event for the FIFAe Nations Series to select the best gamers who will represent the country. The tournament will be played in a 1v1 format using the EA Sports FIFA 22 game on the PlayStation console. PS4 and PS5 users can participate using the PS4 version of the game on their respective consoles.
Monthly Qualifiers will be held in November and December this year followed by January and February of 2022. The final stage of the competition is scheduled for March-April next year. The tournament will be played in a one-vs-one format using the EA Sports FIFA 22 game on the PlayStation console.
AIFF General Secretary, Mr. Kushal Das averred: "Today everything revolves around the e-world, and participating in the FIFAe Nations Series -- FIFA’s flagship tournament for Member Associations -- is a fantastic proposition. I look forward to the AIFF eFootball Challenge and am confident that it will embrace more youngsters to Indian Football. I wish all the participants good luck,” he averred.
The qualifiers will be open to all FIFA gamers residing in the country – both amateurs and professionals, and will be played using 90 OVR mode of the game. The top two athletes from each monthly qualifier will qualify to the final stage, from whereon they will be ineligible to participate in any of the subsequent monthly Qualifiers happening before the Final Stage.
The final stage will be contested amongst 20 contestants comprising the 8 qualified contestants through the Monthly Qualifiers, and 12 other participants invited based on the FIFA Global Series Rankings (PlayStation – Asia South Region) as of February 22, 2022 midnight.
The monthly qualifiers will be played in a single-elimination format with single-legged matchups, whereas the Final Stage will be played in a double-elimination format with double-legged matchups. The grand finale is scheduled for April 3, 2022.

Final Stage - Rounds until & including Upper Quarter Finals and Lower
Round 4: March 17, 2022
Final Stage - Rounds until & including Upper Semi-Finals and Lower Semi-Final: March 18, 2022
Final Stage - Upper & Lower Final, Grand Final, Bracket Reset (if required): April 3, 2022
