All India Football Federation’s U-15 Regional Academy Kolkata presently preparing for U-16 International Tournaments played Milan Bithi, a Kolkata First Division League Team in a Friendly Match at the Pailan World School Campus. The Raghu Nandi coached outfit, who were represented by U-20 boys, won 2-1.

The result though could have been different had the Academy boys, who were the better side and pushed their mighty opponents to the brink, converted one of the two penalties they were awarded in the second period.

While Jerry failed to disturb the net in the 53rd minute after Krishna was tripped inside the 18-yard box, the latter made amends in the dying minutes of the match by neatly converting from the penalty spot.

Head Coach Goutam Ghosh just couldn’t stop talking about the attitude of his wards: “The manner in which my U-15 boys played against a First Division Team speaks volumes about their ability. We even muffed a penalty. As a Coach I am proud of my boys. Any Coach in my place would have said the same thing,” he maintained.
