NEW DELHII: The AFC B-License Course concluded successfully in Aizawl, Mizoram last Sunday (August 8, 2013).

This was the first B-License course in India for the 2013 calendar year scheduled targeting the North East Region with Mizoram Football Association.

The Course was conducted by Mr. Mohamed Basir - Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Course instructor from Singapore. Basir, who is from AFC was assisted by All India Football Federation (AIFF) Director of Coach Education Mr. Scott O’Donell.

“I was very impressed with the attitude of the 24 Participants,” O’Donell told www.the-aiff.com.

“I am hoping we get some positive results from the assessments, which will allow the Coaches to further contribute to the development of football in India. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank Mizoram FA and Mr. Lalnghinglova Hmar (Secretary of MFA) for their excellent cooperation and support to enable the successful completion of this Course,” O’ Donell added.

Mizoram Football Association (MFA) General Secretary Mr. Lalnghinglova Hmar thanked AIFF for giving Mizoram the opportunity to host its ‘first ever B-License Course’.

“It was the first ever B-License Course taking place in Mizoram. We have had C-License Courses before. I am grateful to the AIFF for letting us host the Course,” he said.

“With the first ever B-License Course taking place in Mizoram, I hope we will have B-License Coaches from Mizoram in the near future,” he added.

There were 24 participants who attended the course selected primarily from the North-East states of the country along with others from I-League and 2nd Division Clubs based on their credentials and nominations from the respective State Associations.

The duration of the Course was 21 days, containing more than 107 hours of Theoretical and Practical contents. The assessments included three practical examinations and two theory exams, in addition to a brief dissertation presented to the class.
